Since Adam’s second chemo treatment on Tuesday, he’s been doing pretty well at home. He has not spiked a fever yet (thank you Lord ?), and he still remains happy and energetic when he’s awake.
Contrary to his first chemo treatment, we have not had to give him any anti-nausea medication, and he has not been vomiting. He has been eating somewhere between 20-24 ounces a day which is not bad. I’m just glad Adam’s still eating! He’s staying hydrated, which is what’s important.
On Wednesday, we started giving him injections to stimulate his WBC count. Actually, dad’s been the one giving it. I can’t seem to bring myself to do it yet. And today, Adam got another dressing change. His skin under the dressing was a little red so he may be allergic to the dressing adhesive or he may just have sensitive skin. We will talk to the nurses about it on Monday.
On Monday, we will go in to CHLA for a blood draw to see how his cell counts are doing and whether he needs any infusions. ALSO, it looks like we were able to find a pediatric home care nurse! Once the referral gets approved we should be able to do future blood draws from home.
Yay! Glad you guys found a Peds home health nurse! Adam looks so happy at home.
everyone looks soo happy and comfortable….. prayers that all this good news keeps rolling in and that his WBC builds back up. Tight hugs to all
Great updates and pictures! Dad seems a little tired.
